Publication of the first wave of the Romanian internet audience study

Image Saarlouis, 23rd July 2008. The Romanian BRAT (Romanian ABC – Audit Bureau of circulation) has released the results of its internet study SATI for the first time on 1st July 2008. With this study, which was realized by spring GmbH & Co. KG together with its partners Interrogare Gmbh, Bielefeld (online survey) and nugg.ad AG, Berlin (profiling), the Romanian market is given information on the reach and socio-demographic data of the 150 largest Romanian websites for the first time.

The system uses a multi-method approach similar to the AGOF model and emphasises the relevance of the approach for the harmonisation of audience measurement on a European level.

Arina Ureche, General Director BRAT:

“With the publication of these results the market participants in Romania are given comparable data on the reach of the websites and their socio-demographic profiles equivalent to those in other media for the first time.”

Oliver Pischke, Managing Director, spring GmbH & Co. KG:

“We are very happy about the great acceptance of the SATI study in the Romanian market and are more than a little bit proud of what has been achieved. This study does not only provide the Romanian internet industry with solid data for media planning but also shows the scalability and applicability of the German AGOF model in smaller markets. We expect this study to have a significant “vibrancy“ on other markets in Eastern- and South Eastern Europe.”

BRAT is an association of the Romanian media industry and audits the circulation figures of a number of media products. Right now BRAT integrates more than 240 Portal operators, publishers, agencies and media buyers.

spring GmbH & Co. KG has, since its spin-off from the highly renowned German research institute for artificial intelligence (DFKI) in 1995, become one of Europe’s leading companies in the area of site- and user centric measurement system development for IAM and high performance web analytics. spring’s systems measure the usage of roughly 2000 websites with more than 80 billion page views in five European countries and has become an essential asset in the online media industries in these countries.
